Tenuta Fenice 2020
Though it comes from the north of Italy, Vermentino has found a home from home in the far south, on the island of Sicily. This delicious example is crisp with peaches, oranges and that all-important bitter note at the end. This would be great with ish, vegetable tempura, or a spicy pasta arrabbiata.
Wine expert Henry Jereys, along with the BBC Good Food team, selects all of the wines on oer to BBC Good Food readers. Henry writes about wine for The Guardian and The Spectator, and on his blog, worldo booze.wordpress.com. He’s also a judge in the Best Drinks Producer category for the BBC Food and Farming Awards. His book,
The Home Bar (£25, Jacqui Small), is out now.
