Good Food

Welcome to Christmas

- Christine Hayes, editor-in-chief @bbcgoodfood

Sharing the joy at Christmas is as much about creating new traditions as honouring old. In this bumper issue, we reflect on how our festive celebrations are evolving. Our readers have shared family dishes, from jerk turkey (p82) to chocolate barfi (p88). Maybe you’ll be inspired to shake up your roast potato game with our super-crispy air-fryer version or other brilliant ideas (p66). Our genius microwave sides (p22) are an e€cient way to serve veg, and what we’ve done with pigs in blankets on page 106 is a game-changer! For many, making our cover star is when the Christmas season really starts. This year’s meringue tree, with pops of pistachio and pomegranate seeds, is a towering triumph that keen bakers will love making (p12). Or, get the kids involved in making our cute, no-cook mini meringue version (p51).

Wishing you a very happy Christmas, from all of the Good Food Team. See you next issue, out 1 December.
