“I remember the Silver Jubilee. We were not long married and had bought house. We had a fantastic residents’ association that organised a street party in the area between two streets. Everyone brought something along for the table, and there was just so much to eat. We even had an ice cream van come along. The children played party games and we danced long into the night.

It was a fantastic day full of fun, laughter, and lots (and lots!) of food.” Jac Roberts, Kent

“We will open a bottle of champagne and have it with smoked oysters to toast the late Queen and new King, and remember lost family and friends. Then, we’ll tuck into our Christmas dinner with thanks.” Liz Lee, Jersey, Channel Islands

“It gave me so much pleasure to ‘bake for the Queen’ in a Jubilee pudding competition this year. There were afternoon teas and street parties – at the centre of it all was food, with the purpose of bringing people together. After a couple of years where this simple act was denied for many of us, it truly was a time of jubilation and celebration. Thank you, Your Majesty. Rest in peace and rise in glory.” Athina Rich, Hampshire

“One of the wondrous things about social media has been that we can watch Her Majesty’s Christmas messages every year here in the US, too. It’s something I have grown to look forward to when I wake up on Christmas morning, in between the family gatherings that span several days.i will continue to watch as King Charles III delivers holiday messages in his own style. Perhaps I will sip a cup of English tea and pause to remember and reflect. There will be a little less Christmas magic without seeing the twinkle in the Queen’s eyes this year.” Holly Sampson, Indiana

“We’ll have turkey roll and all the trimmings, all made by me as I am gluten-free! Then, homemade pro iteroles and a toast.” Lynne Terrell, Peterborough
