Bordeaux is a true paradise for lovers of food and wine. Here, you can spend time tasting clarets at some of the region’s most famous vineyards and wander the cobbled streets of historic villages.
On this eight-day, seven-night, all-inclusive river cruise, you’ll wind your way through the picturesque Médoc region, visiting traditional wineries and charming châteaux. Setting o from Bordeaux, you’ll discover the Unesco-listed citadel in Blaye, mysterious underground catacombs of Saint-émilion, Libourne’s Gothic church, and the rolling vineyards of Sauternes.
Among the excursions available are visits to several vineyards and châteaux wine estates, where you can taste wine and learn about the wine-making process. You can also learn the art of French cuisine in Scenic Culinaire, the ship’s on-board cookery school, so you can recreate the lavours of Bordeaux in your kitchen. You’ll visit a local food market with a chef to choose the produce for using in class.
