The NGA has announced a major summer survey that places women at the centre of the story of Australian art. ‘Know My Name’ builds a new national canon of more than 350 works by leading as well as lesser-known artists from 1900 to the present day, including Marie McMahon’s immortalisation of Phillipa Pupangamirri for the poster You are on Aboriginal land (right), first printed in 1981.
