BURIED TREASURES

Russian-born, New York-based artist Yevgeniya Baras embeds her work with materials found and foraged, prosaic and personal, to construct autobiographical landscapes in miniature. The three-dimensional canvases (above) comprising ‘Invisible Line’, her first Australian exhibition, are decorated with curious, cryptic motifs and invite the viewer to excavate their subterranean secrets.
