Jess Johnson worked in collaboration with her mother, Cynthia Johnson, to digitally transpose the science-fictional universe of her drawings – with their arcane symbols, impossible architecture and fantasy figures all rendered in electric hues – onto handmade quilts such as Panspermia, Sing Omega (left), a banner braced to the wall by a pair of dragon’s talons.
