Students set high standards
Benalla FCJ College students dressed up and put on their dancing shoes on Friday, September 7, for a Presentation Ball held at the Community Lakeside Centre.
The Year 11 students participated in eight weeks of dancing lessons before the ball to make sure they put their forward on the night.
The night included progressive dances to contemporary music, as well as the standout parentstudent dance.
College principal Joanne Rock said the night was a success from start to finish. best feet
‘‘The students looked spectacular and conducted themselves wonderfully in line with the formality of the evening,’’ Ms Rock said.
‘‘Once the formal part of the night was over it was a delight to see the dancefloor full of students, parents, staff and siblings, all enjoying themselves enormously.
‘‘This group of students have set the standard for this event at a very high level.’’
Acommittee was formed earlier in the year consisting of staff and Year 11 student volunteers who committed to the planning and organisation of the event, which also included a sit-down meal.
The school said the concept of the Presentation Ball was for every student to feel special, unique and valued equally, with the ball allowing students to dress individually and be acknowledged with the rest of the year level.
