State Member for Euroa Steph Ryan has congratulated the Raise the Roof committee on their efforts in securing $250 000 from the government to help build a new equestrian centre.

Ms Ryan said the funding was a great outcome for the committee, which has worked tirelessly to write grant applications to raise funds and promote the project.

“This is a fantastic outcome for the Raise the Roof committee and for the entire Benalla community,” Ms Ryan said.

“The group has been committed to this project for several years now, fundraising $100 000 towards the arena themselves.

“I would like to congratulate those that have passionately argued for this project, including the Raise the Roof committee’s Melissa Mounsey.

“I have been a strong supporter of the Raise the Roof project since its beginning and I amdelighted the government has come through with funding to match our election commitment.

“In July this year I announced that if elected in November, The Nationals would pledge $250 000 to the project.

“It is wonderful to see that regardless of the election outcome, the Benalla Sports and Equestrian Centre will benefit from a state-ofthe-art centre.

“The indoor arena will give riders from Benalla and surrounding towns an all-weather surface to ride in rain, hail or shine.

“The Raise the Roof committee have shown what dedication and hard work can achieve.”
