Fab­u­lous fes­ti­val looms

Rub­ber Soul, The Bea­tles Show, will per­form at BPACC as a high­light of the 2018 Se­niors Fes­ti­val.

The Se­niors Fes­ti­val runs through­out Oc­to­ber and in­cludes 17 events across Be­nalla Ru­ral City in­clud­ing the free Rub­ber Soul per­for­mance, a month-long walk­ing marathon and the An­nual Spring So­cial Dance.

The Vic­to­rian Se­niors Fes­ti­val cel­e­brates Vic­to­ri­ans aged 60 and over and the con­tri­bu­tion they make to the com­mu­nity.

As part of the fes­ti­val, pub­lic trans­port is free for Vic­to­rian Se­niors Card hold­ers be­tween Oc­to­ber 7 and 14.

Act­ing Mayor Peter Davis said that stop­ping to cel­e­brate and recog­nise the con­tri­bu­tion of se­niors is im­por­tant.

‘‘Take in a movie, par­tic­i­pate in a health and fit­ness ac­tiv­ity, visit an open gar­den or share a com­mu­nity meal,’’ Cr Davis said.

‘‘I en­cour­age all se­niors to get in­volved in one of the many ac­tiv­i­ties avail­able dur­ing the 2018 Se­niors Fes­ti­val in Be­nalla Ru­ral City.’’

Open Gar­den: Birch­wood near Be­nalla, Oc­to­ber 6 and 7, 10 am to 5 pm, $6 en­try, 653 O’Dea Rd, Molyul­lah.
