Venturers get cooking
The newly reformed Benalla Venturer Unit has hit the ground running.
The group started the week with a visit from the Venturer Youth Council, which was enjoyed by all in attendance.
Their first official activity saw the group head into Benalla to take a look at some local landmarks and learn about the history of the township.
That was followed by a trip to the local CFA where youngsters learnt about the vehicles used to fight fires and how the CFA keep the community safe.
Most recently the group hosted a cooking night where members made sausage rolls and mud cake. The activity involved sourcing a recipe, buying ingredients and baking the food.
The Venturers have lots of fun activities planned for November including a Halloween disco, taking part in the Benalla Festival Street Parade, and enjoying ‘‘A day in the gardens Market’’, also part of the festival.
