State Member for Euroa Steph Ryan is encouraging Benalla residents to check their enrolment details, with Victorians heading to the polls on Saturday, November 24.
“The election is just four weeks away and people must be correctly enrolled by 8 pmon Tuesday, November 6,’’ Ms Ryan said.
‘‘It is important for all Victorians to be correctly enrolled on the state electoral roll, so they can have their say on polling day.
‘‘It’s quite easy to check your enrolment details online at the Victorian Electoral Commission website www.vec.vic.gov.au or by phoning 131 832.
‘‘Forms to enrol or update enrolment details are available from my office at 25 Bridge St Benalla, or by phoning (03) 5762 1600.’’
To date, three candidates have announced their intention to contest the seat of Euroa, including Ms Ryan.
‘‘Australia is a democratic country and voters deserve a choice on election day,’’ Ms Ryan said.
‘‘Our democratic system won’t flourish without competition — for ideas, policy and a vision for our region.
‘‘That’s why I’ve worked hard to secure the Nationals’ commitment to buy new trains and to deliver a better deal by injecting an extra $12 million into council roads in our electorate.
‘‘I consider it a privilege to represent the best part of Victoria and I will be working very hard to earn that privilege again.’’
