Council’s new CEO revealed
Benalla Rural City has announced its new chief executive officer who will take over from Tony McIlroy, who decided not to re-apply for the position at the end of his contract.
Dominic Testoni has been confirmed as the council’s chief executive officer from January 16.
Mr McIlroy has had a long career in the local government sector, putting in more than 42 years, 15 as the Benalla council CEO.
Mayor Scott Upston said he and his councillor colleagues were excited about welcoming the new CEO.
‘‘Dominic brings experience in local government, small business and the notfor-profit sector,’’ Cr Upston said.
‘‘We welcome Dominic and his family to Benalla and look forward to working with him to continue achieving great things for our municipality.
‘‘Dominic is from regional South Australia, so he has a good understanding of the issues and pressures facing small regional councils and rural communities.”
