ALP chooses Kerr

La­bor has an­nounced that Eric Kerr has been se­lected as the ALP can­di­date for the seat of Indi at the up­com­ing fed­eral elec­tion.

Eric was the ALP can­di­date in 2013 and said he was look­ing for­ward to run­ning again.

‘‘I’m very proud to rep­re­sent La­bor in Indi,’’ Mr Kerr said.

‘‘We are the party Medi­care, the party Gon­ski, the party of NBN and NDIS.

‘‘Health and of of the ed­u­ca­tion are vi­tal ser­vices for ev­ery­one in Indi, whether they live out on a farm or in towns.

‘‘As the con­cerns ex­pressed by lo­cal doc­tors have shown, Indi is miss­ing out on vi­tal fund­ing. This has to change.’’

Mr Kerr pointed to the protest from school chil­dren last week, and said that com­mu­ni­ties wanted to see fresh blood in par­lia­ment, a new per­spec­tive, and a shake-up from the old.

‘‘I will de­liver Kerr said.

‘‘As a past can­di­date I have spent the last three years pre­par­ing to run again and was keen to hit the cam­paign trail.

‘‘To­day I’ve been on the road vis­it­ing towns throughout the elec­torate.

‘‘To­mor­row I’m off to Can­berra to meet with Anthony Al­banese, Shadow Min­is­ter for Trans­port and In­fra­struc­ture.

‘‘I’ll be us­ing this op­por­tu­nity to meet with other shadow min­is­ters as well.’’ that,’’ Mr
