Council News is now in its 21st edition. Thank you for your positive feedback about it. From time to time we like to check on your preferred method of receiving information and updates from us. ensure the community understood the range of services available. More than 100 people attended the Disability and Seniors Expo held at Benalla Town Hall on Wednesday 28 November 2018. There were almost 40 activity and service providers on show including Benalla Health, Victoria Police, Benalla Aquatic Centre, Yooralla, Dementia Australia, Hearing Australia, Vision Australia and employment providers. Social media BPACC / Benalla Cinema The expo was held in partnership with the Benalla Accessibility Reference Group, Age Friendly Benalla and VALiD (Victorian Advocacy League for Individuals with Disability). The Accessibility Reference Group is made up of community members with a lived experience with disability and advise the Council and businesses on matters of accessibility and inclusion. Council Meetings Children’s Week competition winners Children across Benalla Rural City participated in a creative competition in celebration of Children’s Week. The competition, held by the Council in partnership with the Department of Education and Training, encouraged children aged 4-12 to portray what family means to them. We received 320 entries. Winners were awarded a range of prizes including art packs and BPACC vouchers.
