A-re­serve in good shape

Benalla Bushrangers A-re­serve side is in a great po­si­tion af­ter day one of its two-day game at the Gar­dens, bowl­ing Ovens Val­ley United out for 102.

Ryan Lloyd-Wil­liams starred with the ball, tak­ing 5/28 from 11 overs while Se­naka Lak­mal fin­ished with 3/31. Henry Sa­daya and Bode Stevens also chipped in with a wicket each.

In re­ply, the A-re­serve side made it to 2/68 at stumps and now aim to chase down the re­main­ing 33 runs next Satur­day.

Luke Dunne was not out 29 and Stevens not out nine. Re­gan Shee­han opened the bat­ting and made 13.


The C-grade side re­mains win­less af­ter a heavy de­feat by Yar­ra­wonga-Mul­wala at the Show­grounds.

Bowl­ing first, the Bushies did well to bowl the vis­i­tors out for 145 in the 35th over.

Jack Ful­lager was the pick of the bowlers with 3/26 while Gur­preet Singh and Matt Knight got two wick­ets each.

Josh Or­mand, Sam Cullen and Trev Tay­lor also grabbed a wicket.

How­ever, in re­ply, the Bushies were bun­dled out for 49 in­clud­ing six ducks.

Ful­lager com­pleted a great game with 24 runs from open­ing the bat­ting while Grayson Kirk was un­beaten on nine runs. This week­end C-grade trav­els to Mans­field to take on De­latite.


In the ju­niors, the Un­der-16s are on top of the lad­der af­ter de­feat­ing an un­der­manned Ovens Val­ley United side play­ing at Myrtle­ford.

Bowl­ing first, the Bushies skit­tled OVUCC for 69 as Charles Moll starred, tak­ing 3/5.

Other wicket tak­ers were Jack Ful­lager, Jasper Grayson Kirk.

In the run chase, the Bushies com­piled 3/141 from their 20 overs.

Luke Dunne, Deakyn Kohler and Jack Ful­lager re­tired on 30 and Bode Stevens made 19.

In Un­der-14s ac­tion, the Benalla Bushrangers lost a close game to De­latite while the Benalla/Greta com­bine side thrashed City Colts.

The com­bine side bowled City Colts out for 47 and then made 5/117 in re­ply. Liam Sem­mens made 21 and Pat Wright 19 while in the com­bine bowl­ing, Sem­mens and James Parker took two wick­ets each.

Tom Bin­ion, Max Woods, Nick McAsey and Max Cullen all got a wicket each.

The Benalla side bat­ted against De­latite and made from their 21 overs.

Willem Hy­land top scored with 17 not out and Ge­orge Lith­gow was un­beaten on 16. De­latite racked up 5/97 in re­ply. Jonty Priest and Seth Arnold stepped up from the un­der-12s in this game and both took a wicket while Kelly James fin­ished with 2/5. first 4/78

This week­end the Benalla/Greta com­bine side takes on De­latite at the Gar­dens while the Benalla team tack­les Ovens Val­ley United at the Benalla Show­grounds.


In the Un­der-12s, the Bushies played Rovers United Bruck Red at Arun­del St Lake end where cap­tain Cooper Bin­ion lost the toss and was asked to bat in hot con­di­tions.

The Bushies did well to bat out their 20 overs against some good bowl­ing and fin­ished with 6/67.

Lu­cas Ham top scored with 16, while Will Bot­ten was un­beaten on 12 and Cooper Bin­ion re­tired not out with seven runs. Os­car Ring also bat­ted his 20 balls out.

The RUB side man­aged to pass the re­quired to­tal in the 13th over and then piled on the runs to fin­ish on 6/131.

Bryce Cooney was in good form with the ball, tak­ing two wick­ets while Cooper Bin­ion, Tom Grif­fith and Will Bot­ten grabbed a wicket each. Bot­ten also man­aged two catches.

This Satur­day the un­der-12s play Rovers United Bruck Yel­low at Arun­del St Lake end in the last game be­fore the Christ­mas break.
