Af­ter 30 years in the game, Be­nalla’s Tony Wil­liams has de­cided to re­tire from com­pet­i­tive lawn bowls.

The lo­cal real estate agent said he had de­cided to turn his fo­cus to­wards golf and his pas­sion for real estate, af­ter a long and suc­cess­ful ca­reer out on the greens.

Wil­liams boasts a large list of ac­com­plish­ments in the sport, lo­cally and across the state.

At state level, he has taken out the Vic­to­rian 60 and over sin­gles, Vic­to­rian Coun­try Masters Mixed Pairs and a sil­ver medal at the Vic­to­rian Open sin­gles, as well as rep­re­sent­ing Vic­to­ria at the Aus­tralian In­door Sin­gles in Queens­land.

The bowls vet­eran is also walk­ing away with a num­ber of Ovens and Mur­ray ti­tles in­clud­ing two open sin­gles, mens fours, pairs, and vet­er­ans sin­gles.

With a range of pen­nant pre­mier­ships, club events and lo­cal tour­na­ments up his sleeve, Wil­liams has been a per­ma­nent fix­ture in the lo­cal bowls com­mu­nity.

You will now find him tak­ing on the his next chal­lenge out on the golf course.
