Young people, be heard
Tomorrow Today is set to launch a bold initiative that will give young people a voice and help to achieve a stronger future for Benalla.
Known as Full Impact, the project will help young people develop the skills to inform, advocate and participate in civic governance systems.
Tomorrow Today is looking for a diverse group of young people, aged 11 to 19 years, to form the Full Impact Advisory Committee.
The committee will take part in a series of workshops run by the Youth Affairs Council of Victoria aimed at developing the skills and knowledge to lead and influence change in the community.
Tomorrow Today student engagement and transitions co-ordinator Alex Ross said young people would gain important communication, negotiation, problem solving, presentation and leadership skills from the project.
“Benalla’s young people have fabulous ideas and many are really passionate about our community,” Ms Ross said.
“They will lead the Full Impact project to capture the energy, hopes, concerns and issues of their peers to ensure their voices shape the future of Benalla.
“We really encourage young people to get involved in this exciting project.”
If you know of a young person aged between 11 and 19 years living in Benalla who would be interested in participating, please complete an online survey available at www.surveymonkey.com/ r/RWRGB7C
If you would like to apply, but cannot access the online survey, or if you would like more information, phone Alex Ross on 5762 1211. Applications close on August 31.
