Driving range on way
The Benalla Golf Club will soon be home to a ninebay driving range.
The driving range will be open to all ages, members and non members alike.
It will operate during daylight hours seven days a week and will feature an automatic ball-dispensing machine.
Benalla Golf Club president Richard de Crespigny said people could get a bucket of golf balls to use on the range.
“A ball-collecting machine will then pick up all the balls on a regular basis, meaning that participants can spend their time purely concentrating on hitting as many balls as far as possible,” Mr de Crespigny said.
“The driving range is for everyone.
“Experienced golfers can use it to hone their skills, whilst players who haven’t hit a ball for some time can find out what they can remember — or how much they’ve forgotten.
“And it’s the perfect way for juniors to start out.”
The club is hoping for an opening date during the first or second week in October. Keep an eye out in the pages of The Ensign for when that will be.
