RAR raises $620 for Asylum Seeker Resource Centre
The Benalla branch of Rural Australian's for Refugees raised $620 for the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre with sales of home-made preserves.
Group member Jenny Monger said she would like to thank the Rose City community for its support.
"Many thanks to all the Benalla residents who have bought my home-made goodies and made generous donations," Ms Monger said.
"The money will be much appreciated by the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre who, in the absence of any government aid, support refugees with essentials including food, accommodation, English lessons, medical needs and legal assistance.
"The focus of the ASRC at the moment is Afghan refugees."
