Bushies look to push boundaries

-

Benalla Bushrangers Cricket Club is recruiting junior players for its under12s cricket teams this season.

This season the Bushrangers are hoping to enter two Benalla-based Under-12 teams in the Wangaratta and District Cricket Association.

The club has re-appointed

Christian Defazio and Darren Skelton to lead the Under-12 program.

Players of all abilities, boys and girls, are encouraged to attend training, develop their skills, and have fun.

“The club provides a great environment for kids to learn the game of cricket and have some fun,” Skelton said.

“Games are structured so that everyone gets a bat and a bowl, and the chance to shine.

“Our focus is very much on learning the skills of the game, participation and having fun.”

Under-12 players train on Wednesdays from 4.30pm to 6pm at the Benalla Gardens Oval.

Matches are played on Saturday morning.

Registration is $50 per player, which includes a club cap.

The season is likely to start in November.
