Rural communities to share vision for future

Rural communities within Benalla Rural City are working together with council to develop a four-year plan for their townships, capturing their priorities and vision for the future.

The project offers rural communities the opportunity to get involved and to voice suggestions, ideas and opinions on what matters most to them in their community.

The first stage of consultation is seeking written feedback from community members on the draft plans.

Consultation is initially being carried out in Baddaginnie, Swanpool and Thoona.

Benalla Rural City Mayor Danny Claridge said towns including Chesney

Vale, Devenish, Goorambat, Goomalibee, Boweya, Mt Bruno, Warrenbayne, Winton, Moorngag, Tatong, Molyullah, Lurg and Lima will follow.

“Once feedback has been received, council would like to bring together community members to present the feedback, (and) discuss, finalise and adopt rural township plans for each participating community,” Cr Claridge said.
