BENALLA BOTANICAL GARDENS PARKRUN

On January 16, 30 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom five were first timers. Representa­tives of three different clubs took part.

That weekend was also headlined by wedding celebratio­ns, with regular park runners Bre Kent and James Carboon celebratin­g their wedding with the parkrun community ahead of the big day.

Carboon capped off a special day with a first-placed finish, with a time of 20:36.

He was closely followed by Josh Rankin, who finished with a time of 21:40.

In third-place was Paul Tait from Lalor Running Club in the 50-54 years age group.

First place in the female category was Kent, who flew to the finish lie with veil and bouquet, recording a time of 24:01.

The event was made possible by nine volunteers: Lee Horan, Deb Robinson, Mal Webster, Diana Hobby, David Horan, Pat Menzies, Amanda Edgar, Graeme Edgar and Bethany Marshall.
