Benalla Rural City had 101 active COVID-19 cases as of midday Tuesday, February 22, nine more than at the same stage last week.

Since the pandemic began around 8.5 per cent of the local government area’s population (1230 people) have had the virus.

After rolling back QR code check-in requiremen­ts last week the Victorian Government has now also announced a change to mask rules and work from home requiremen­ts, which will come into affect at midnight on Friday, February 25.

Current QR code check in requiremen­ts:

QR code check-in requiremen­ts are no longer required in workplaces where checking the vaccinatio­n status of patrons is not required.

Victorians are still required to check-in at vaccinated economy venues where visitors are required to show their vaccinatio­n status.

Changes to mask rules and work from home restrictio­ns, as of Friday, February 25:

Public health recommenda­tions for Victorians to work and study from home will be removed, while masks will no longer be needed in most indoor settings.
