Welcome rain

We have had some much-needed rainfall at last this month, 10ml in my gauge.

Further north I have enjoyed success with my prediction.

The little elderly lady who runs the Visitor Centre in Mt Morgan was delighted to hear from my lady friend that I predicted an exceptionally wet spring and summer season for Mt Morgan and also at Miles where we stayed last August.

The past three months at Mt Morgan totalled 408ml, the seventh wettest October to December in 126 years, the wetter October to December being in 1916, 1933, 1973, 1990, 2000 and 2010.

At Miles each month from October to February this year; the rainfall has exceeded 100ml for a total of 808ml easily a record for any spring and summer season in 137 years of records and also 150ml higher than the annual average of 657ml.
