PICOLA UNITED

NETBALL

- – AYDIN PAYNE

After multiple top four finishes in a row in the Picola District Netball League A-grade competition, Picola United is primed for another assault on that elusive silverware.

United finished runner-up in 2019 before ending the cancelled 2021 campaign locked in fourth spot.

With two new coaches at the helm, Picola United president Clinton Barnes said there was plenty of excitement ahead of the 2022 season.

“The numbers have been pretty solid for the senior netballers which is great. We’ve been able to welcome a few new faces,” Barnes said.

“We have two new coaches this year in Clare (Greaves) and Rachael (Morrison), who will take the reins of our A and B-grade sides.

“We have kept most of our group from the past few seasons when we finished runner-up in 2019 and fourth last year which is a very big effort from everyone.

“We’re looking forward to a big year again.”
