If you’re an apartment dweller or it’s impractical to knock out a wall, you may be stuck with a galley. To prevent the walls closing in on you, look to gloss white units. Go for touch-to-open doors to avoid any projection in the walkway. A mirror splashback will keep the look light but, if possible, install a long window on an external wall to let light flood in.
