Revamp your render

If the walls of your home’s exterior are rendered, it’s a fast but effective job to update the colour. Run a timber offcut along the surface to dislodge any bumpy bits of render then brush away any loose debris. Apply water-based primer. Tip

If applying a dark topcoat colour, such as charcoal or slate, have your primer tinted to a mid-grey for better topcoat performance. Once the primer is dry, it’s on with your topcoat. For this, choose a hard-wearing exterior paint (such as Dulux Weathershield) in a colour you love!
