Zhoosh your fence, quick

If your home has an old-style masonry fence featuring low pillars, like this, you can refurb it by fitting horizontal timber slats into the recesses. Here’s how:

Make timber framework panels to fit inside recesses using H3 primed treated pine (66 x 42mm).

Screw framework into fence recesses then attach Merbau slats (to match carport screen, page 152) to front side of framework. Use a slat offcut as a spacer.

Finish with a Merbau slat along top of panel, as capping.
