Grow it

Better Homes and Gardens (Australia) - - Spring Cooking -

Corn 1

A tall growing plant, corn thrives in well-fertilised soil in full sun. Plant from spring to early summer, grouping a few plants together in a block to help pollination. Water well, feed again when cobs form and apply mulch around the base.

Radish 2

Quick and easy to grow, radishes can be planted from early spring to late summer. Feed with soluble fertiliser every 10 days, pick while young and sow more every few weeks.

Carrot 3

Planted from July through to March, carrots can be harvested for much of the year. They need a deep, well-textured soil and enjoy liquid fertilising every few weeks. Harvest when young and sweet.
