WRAP-STYLE CUSHION COVERS
Gather your supplies
Outdoor fabric; matching thread; zipper the length of cushion; zipper foot; sewing machine; general sewing supplies
Here’s how STEP 1
Measure width and height of side of the cushion. Add 2cm to each measurement for seam allowances. Cut out 2 cushion sides. Zigzag stitch all edges.
STEP 2
Measure around the cushion, from its front right around to the back and to the front again where your tape began. Add another 4cm to this measurement. Measure length of the cushion top and add another 2cm.
STEP 3
Use measurements to cut out Zigzag all edges. To insert zipper along raw edges (length of cushion), refer to steps 2–3 of Cushion covers two ways instructions, over page. With right sides facing join 2 raw edges with a 2cm seam and sew zipper into seam as instructed. Turn right side out and unpick seam where stitching is longer to reveal zipper. Turn wrong side out.
1 piece of fabric to wrap around cushion.
STEP 4
With right sides facing and 1 short end of each side panel centred against a zipper end, pin each cushion side to sides of cushion wrap. Stitch around each using 1cm seams. Turn cover through to right side via zipper.
STEP 5
Repeat to make remaining cushion covers for your setting.
