Wheel­bar­row; rake; shovel; drill; timber screws

STEP 1 Clear the area of de­bris such as branches, leaves and rocks us­ing a wheel­bar­row to re­move. Save any suit­able branches to use for the gnome house. Rake the area.

STEP 2 Fill cleared site with garden soil us­ing a shovel. There is no need to level the area or com­pact the soil.

STEP 3 Po­si­tion 2 up­turned half-wine bar­rels on the soil and mea­sure the dis­tance in be­tween to cut deck­ing boards, or other re­cy­cled out­door timber, to length. Po­si­tion boards on the bar­rels and se­cure with screws us­ing a drill.

STEP 4 Us­ing the shovel, dig out a creek bed to run un­der the bridge and part­way through the site. Mound the soil on ei­ther side.

STEP 5 Pour river peb­bles into creek bed and ar­range large bush rocks.
