In 2018, the garden unveiled its newest addition – an 18m high floral structure of Mickey Mouse, featuring 100,000 plants and weighing 35 tonnes. It’s now the world’s tallest topiary structure.
In 2016, a life-size floral replica of an Emirates A380 Airbus received the Guinness World Records ‘largest flower arrangement/structure’ title. The Dubai Butterfly Garden,
which was added in 2015, is a sanctuary for thousands of butterflies and is the largest of its kind in the world.
The garden has almost 50 million flowers, in 120 different varieties.
The flowers are maintained by the re-use of waste water, applied via drip irrigation.
