the edgy 80s

During this colourful decade we were power dressing at the office, and in the home

You need sunglasses to look at some of our paint projects from the ’80s. Primary colours and geometric patterns adorned mirrors, walls and furniture. On the other hand, the country-cottage look was big – think floral wallpaper, romantic pleating and rushing, pine kitchens and DIY lace appliqué quilts.

It seems the whole world went macramé mad, fashioning wall hangings and plant pot holders to house the indoor foliage we bought by the truckload. Cool cane and wicker furniture, normally reserved for outdoors, was welcomed inside our homes with open arms.

Bold colours and geometric shapes rule.

Country-cottage style calls for appliqué projects.

Cane furniture moves indoors, along with the garden.

Terrarium craft: just add one cake cover!

Now this looks very familiar!
