Cruise around the Pacific Islands for fun in the sun

want a holiday dream come true? Slip away for a week’s cruising around the islands of the Pacific and take a blissful, memorable, exciting, cocooning, exhilarating break from everyday life.

Take your pick of ships, but you can really set your heart racing with anticipation as you head up the gangway on P&O Cruises’ recently revamped Pacific Explorer. The ship sails out of Sydney and as the voyage kicks off with two days at sea, you relax into cruise mode as soon as you embark. It’s mid-size (1998 passengers), oh-so comfortable and is loved by all age groups.

Life aboard ship makes you feel out-of-this-world special. For adults there are two secluded retreats, very cool bars, eight dining options and shows to captivate and entertain you through the day and late into the night if you’re so inclined. And indulgent corners abound here, there and everywhere for you to sit read, relax and chat, cocktail or chai in hand.

For the kids (grown-ups too, really), there are dual waterslides, Segway rides, a zip line, lawn bowls, kids’ clubs and great pools!

Get aboard the eight-day cruise to Nouméa, Maré and the Isle of Pines and in between going ashore for exciting activities at these exotic destinations, you’ll be spoilt for choice for awesome walks around the decks; exercise and gym classes for all levels; indeed classes of all types including arts and crafts. In fact, you can fill your days being delightfully busy – or not.

Then wine and dine your way around the ship. The Pantry has nine different food stations and, like the main Waterfront restaurant, it’s free of charge and open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

In the evenings specialty restaurant Shell & Bones is set up for you to feast for a very reasonable $40 for two people. And it’s all delicious! Boutique restaurants Angelo’s (Italian) and Dragon Lady (Asian) are included in your fare; extra-charge eateries include Luke’s (juicy burgers), A Taste of Salt (Luke Mangan) and 400 Gradi (delicious pizza).

Pacific Explorer also has a variety of stylish bars for trivia, quizzes and live music; chic bars for intimate cocktails; or romantic bars for late-night revellers. And you won’t want to miss the risqué cabaret-style show, Love Riot – it’s certainly not your average cruise entertainment!

You can do as much or as little as you like during the cruise, go ashore on a variety of tours at each port or stay onboard and have the ship to yourself. But one thing’s for sure, you’ll arrive back home feeling loved, rested, looked-after and ready to book your next cruise.

You’ll barely see the kids – there’s so much for them to do

Get your heart racing on the zip line – woo hoo!

Choose any of many lounges to relax the way you want

It’s cabaret like you won’t imagine! You’ll love the shows

Make mine a cocktail thanks!
