Here’s how

To start, re­fer to Step 1 in Gen­eral in­struc­tions.

STEP 1 Re­fer to cen­tral bee stitch di­a­gram and em­broi­der out­line of bee in back­stitch as marked on the chart. Stitch body of bee in satin stitch us­ing 2 strands of 310, 535, 726 and 728. Re­fer to di­a­gram for colour place­ment. STEP 2 Re­fer to crossstitch di­a­gram and com­plete de­sign, us­ing steps 2-5 of Gen­eral in­struc­tions.

To fin­ish

STEP 1 The back can be cov­ered with fabric or felt. Cut em­broi­dered piece to about 35 x 40cm. Cut back­ing fabric same size. Fold un­der 1.5cm seam al­lowances on linen and back­ing fabric and press. STEP 2 Align edges and stitch front and back to­gether with blan­ket stitch us­ing DMC Perle cot­ton 4075. Insert hang­ers or dowel in between fabrics as you stitch around.

STEP 3 From left­over threads make a cord for hang­ing and small pom­pom and tas­sel for dec­o­ra­tion (see in­struc­tions op­po­site).
