Here’s how

To start cross-stitch, re­fer to Steps 1-5 in Gen­eral in­struc­tions. Then work back­stitch (di­a­gram on page 172) once all cross-stitch com­pleted. Se­cure the end off as you would with cross-stitch.

To fin­ish

Cut fin­ished piece to 7 x 15cm. Fold un­der 1cm seam al­lowance along 2 long sides. Fold in half and stitch run­ning stitch along all 4 edges us­ing 1 strand of black cot­ton 310, leav­ing a 1cm fringe at the bot­tom. At­tach brooch pin to top as you stitch run­ning stitch.

Pull threads to form the fringe. Dec­o­rate with tas­sels and a pom­pom (in­struc­tions on page172) .
