HOW TO TRIM YOUR TREE

• Golden rule – add the lights first, distributing them evenly over the tree.

• Use your free paper to make simple decos: birds, stars, hearts, or whatever shapes you fancy. Mix and match the designs and string each on a loop of coordinating ribbon – red will make a green tree sing!

• With your paper colours as a guide, choose purchased baubles in various sizes and solid colours – including gold, for a touch of bling – to add to the display. Don’t stint here; they needn’t be expensive, but try to fill up the spaces between your paper decos. When in doubt, add another one!

• Pop a paper star on top (see page 188), coordinating pressies below, and then stand back and admire! ■
