Easy step-by-steps to your EDIBLE VERTICAL GARDEN
When it comes to your tin cans, upcycle don’t recycle! Give them a good wash and remove the labels, then use cans to create a hanging salad garden. It’s a great way to grow loose-leaf lettuce and other greens.
Gather your supplies
Tin cans Exterior paint Coloured rope Salad greens
You’ll also need
Drill and bits; hammer; nail; masking tape; hooks; paintbrush; potting mix
STEP 1 Drill drainage holes
in can bases. Use a hammer and nail to punch 2 holes opposite each other 10mm down from the rim.
STEP 2 Mask off tins, then paint. Leaving a hanger, thread rope through first tin, knot off, then repeat to make a chain. Plant up. STEP 3 Attach hooks to wall and hang tin can chain. Water well.
