TEARDROP hanging planter
Make a creatively curvy hanging planter to showcase your favourite foliage.
What you’ll need
700 x 500 x 18mm marine plywood; pencil; jigsaw; fine sandpaper; clear satin varnish; drill; 50mm decking screws; ceiling hook; jute twine
Here’s how
Draw the teardrop shape on the plywood. It’s about 670mm high and 475mm wide. Then, 50mm inside this, draw a second shape mirroring the first, with a flat bottom about 220mm wide. Cut out the shape with a jigsaw and cut a 220mm wide circle from the inner offcut that will act as the platform for the plant. Sand all the edges smooth and apply 2 coats of clear satin varnish. Predrill then screw the circle to the flat bottom with the decking screws to create the plant platform. Hang from a ceiling hook using jute twine.
