Better Homes and Gardens (Australia)

welcome back!

Better Homes and Gardens is back on air! Join your favourite TV presenters as they bring you another big year of cooking, decorating, gardening and do-it-yourself projects

-

hey gang! We’re so glad to join you again to brighten your Friday nights with more ideas, tips, tricks and inspiration for your home and garden. In our first episode you’ll be introduced to the biggest project we’ve done in years. An entire house transformed from top to bottom, inside and out!

Throughout the year, the BHG TV team will join forces to make over this home with plenty of ideas you can use at your place. First up is turning a plain back deck into a haven for summer entertaining. Don’t miss it!

We’ll also show you how to convert an unwanted swimming pool into an amazing aquatic oasis. What a fabulous idea! In the kitchen, you’ll be making weekday meals, more-ish snacks, delish desserts and party food to impress. You can find all the projects and recipes in the March issue of Better Homes and Gardens magazine, on sale 7 February.

1 Create a gentle transition up to your deck by building a pair of wide steps, and install a pair of triangular sails that overlap each other for easy shade.

2 A lounge area is a ‘yes please’ addition to any deck. As a centrepiece, turn a pair of planters into a custom coffee table.

3 Screen out the neighbours with a decorative panel and hang a rack for your barbie tools and herbs. Just screw decking offcuts together and add hooks. Done!

4 Make it social with a bar table – perfect for relaxing over chilled drinks, it doubles as a dining spot. Decorate with cut foliage and summer fruits. Mango anyone?

It’s an alfresco affair! Create an outdoor space for cooking and lounging
