Pre­heat oven to 150°C. Line a bak­ing tray with bak­ing pa­per. In a large bowl, com­bine 1/4 cup unsweet­ened ap­ple sauce, 1/4 cup pure maple syrup, 2 Tbsp olive oil,

1 tsp vanilla ex­tract, 1/2 tsp cin­na­mon, 1/4 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp nut­meg. Stir in 3 cups rolled oats, 11/2 cups chopped wal­nuts, 3 Tbsp ground flaxseeds and 2 Tbsp chia seeds. Spread mix­ture on pre­pared tray. Bake 45-50 min­utes, stir­ring af­ter 20 min­utes. Makes 41/2 cups. ■
