Here’s how

Ten­sion: 21 sts and 28 rows to 10cm over stock­ing st, us­ing 4.5mm nee­dles. Cor­rect ten­sion is not es­sen­tial for this rug, but stated mea­sure­ments and yarn quan­ti­ties are based on this ten­sion.

For you to note This rug is worked on larger nee­dles than usu­ally rec­om­mended for this yarn.

STRIP 1 (make 2) Us­ing 4.5mm nee­dles and Sil­ver, cast on 86 sts. Work 31 rows garter st (ev­ery row knit, first row is WS). SIDE BOR­DERS (make 2)

Us­ing 4.5mm nee­dles and Sil­ver, cast on 15 sts. Work in garter st (first row is WS) un­til bor­der is length re­quired to fit (slightly stretched) along side edge of Strip 1, work­ing last row on RS. Cast off loosely.

Make up

Do not press. Us­ing mat­tress st (see page 146) and work­ing from left to right, join strips tog in fol­low­ing or­der: 1, 2, 3, 2 then 1. Sew side bor­ders in po­si­tion.

Noth­ing beats be­ing wrapped up in a hand­made knit!
