LAYING NEW TURF

Pu ing down turf is the easy part – ge ing the soil ready takes time. Follow these steps. Remove existing turf and weeds.

Test soil ph. It should be between 5.5 and 7. If it’s lower than 5.5, apply lime. If it’s higher than 7, apply sulphur.

Dig organic ma er into soil to add nutrients and aerate it. Level with a metal rake.

Choose a type of turf suitable for your local climate and the wear and tear it will be subject to, based on how you want to use the lawn. Your turf supplier can advise you.
