HOW TO ARRANGE YOUR DISPLAY
• Opt for a dish that is at least 5cm deep. Shop your home for suitable dish planters, from pot saucers to shallow ceramic bowls and old cookware.
• Select up to five plants in 5-8cm pots that will look good and grow well together and arrange them in the dish to get the look you want.
• If the dish will be set against a wall, arrange taller plants at the back. If the dish is to be a centrepiece, put tall plants in the centre, then arrange your smaller plants around it.
• Take a photograph and remove plants from the dish.
• Half fill the dish with po ing mix – use a succulent mix for succulents – re-arrange plants in the mix according to your photo, then add more mix so roots are covered. Gently firm down mix.
• Cover the mix with small pebbles for decorative effect.
