Using 3.5mm hook and C1, make 48ch and join with a sl st in first ch to form a ring, taking care not to twist.

1st round 1ch, 1dc in same ch as sl st, 1dc in each ch to end, sl st in first dc… 48dc. 2nd round 1ch, 1dc in same st as sl st, 1dc in each of next 47dc, sl st in first dc. Rep last round 10 times, changing to C2 for final sl st… 12 rounds C1 in total. * Using C2, work 24 rounds.

Using C3, work 12 rounds. Using C4, work 24 rounds. Using C1, work 36 rounds. Using C3, work 24 rounds. Using C2, work 36 rounds. Using C4, work 12 rounds. ** Using C1, work 24 rounds. Using C2, work 12 rounds.

NOTE Beg adding polyester fibre fill to assist in determining final length (due to stretch factor). Using C3, cont working rounds until Wall fits around stuffed section of Base. Fasten off.

Join ends tog, adding extra polyester fibre fill for a firm finish.

Split ring wall

Using 3.5mm hook and C1, make 2ch, leaving a long end.

Work rounds 1 to 8 incl as for Inner circle of Base… 48dc.

Sides

Next round 1ch, 1dc in same st as sl st, 1dc in each of next 47dc, sl st in first dc. Rep last round once. Work 168 rounds as for Ring wall from * to **.

Using C1 work 10 rounds, sl st in next dc, fasten off.

Split ring end

Using 3.5mm hook and C3, make 2ch, leaving a long end.

Work rounds 1 to 8 incl as for Inner circle of Base… 48dc.

Next round 1ch, 1dc in same st as sl st, 1dc in each of next 47dc, sl st in first dc. Rep last round 35 times.

Sl st in next dc, fasten off.

To make up

Arrange Ring wall on top of Base and sew to outer edge of Base flange. Fill Split ring wall and Split ring ends with polyester fibre fill and join in same manner as Ring wall. Stack Split ring wall on Ring wall and stitch securely together. Sew in ends.
