EASY STEPS TO YOUR WARDROBE UPDATE
Gather your supplies
• Etch primer spray paint
• Epoxy enamel black spray paint
• 30 x 11mm x 2.7m primed pine
You’ll also need Brown paper; painter’s tape; 0000 grade steel wool; face mask; cloth; methylated spirits; double-sided tape
Here’s how
STEP 1 Remove mirrored doors from wardrobe and lay on bench. Using brown paper and painter’s tape, mask off entire doors, leaving metal trims exposed.
STEP 2 Use steel wool on trims to remove gloss and create a rougher surface for paint to hold onto. Clean with a cloth and methylated spirits.
STEP 3 Wearing a face mask, apply 1 coat of etch primer to all metal surfaces and allow to dry.
STEP 4 Apply 2-3 coats of black spray paint to metal, le ing dry between coats. Spray in a side-to-side motion, always keeping the can moving.
STEP 5 Cut 30 x 11mm pine into lengths to go across each mirrored door. Spray paint them black. A ach to doors using double-sided tape, lining them up horizontally and leaving equal amounts of mirror between lengths.
STEP 6 Repeat steps 1-4 on parts of wardrobe that can’t be removed, such as track, head and sides. Let dry, then reinsert doors into wardrobe.
