PAPER GARLAND

Fancy a garden gathering? Go all out and set the scene by making a pre y paper garland trim for your windows or doors.

-

Cut out leaf and blossom shapes from tissue paper, lightweight card or coloured paper. As you can see you will need several different shapes, especially leaves! You can cut these shapes freehand but, for ease, try leaf and flower punches. Thread your sewing machine with green sewing co on and arrange a few leaves in front of the walking foot in line with the base of the leaves. Aim for a relaxed look with leaves either side of the centre stitch line. Slowly start sewing, pushing the leaves under the needle, catching the leaves as you push them through to the back. Continue adding leaves and blossoms to the garland until you reach the desired length. To hang, either drape the garland from garden canes or arrange around a window.
