EASY STEPS TO YOUR FISH DECORATIONS

-

For fishies to swim across your walls, paint plywood shapes then make clever use of bubble wrap to create their scales.

Gather your supplies

• 3mm plywood

• Acrylic primer

• Acrylic paint in blues and white

• Bubble wrap

• Cardstock in black, red and yellow

You’ll also need Pencil; jigsaw; paintbrushes and trays; circle punch in 2 sizes; Mod Podge matte; picture hanging strips

Here’s how

STEP 1 Trace the trio of fish templates (left) onto plywood and cut out shapes with jigsaw.

STEP 2 Apply primer to one side of each fish and allow to dry.

STEP 3 Apply 2 coats of blue paint to primed fish with a paintbrush, leaving to dry after each coat.

STEP 4 Lightly brush diluted white paint over fish. While paint is still tacky, lay a piece of bubble wrap over fish and press gently.

STEP 5 Peel back bubble wrap on an angle, being careful not to smudge the paint. Let dry.

STEP 6 Punch a coloured cardstock circle and smaller black circle and attach to fish with Mod Podge to create an eye. Leave to set.

STEP 7 Hang fish on wall using picture hanging strips.
