EASY STEPS TO YOUR WHALE WALL RACK
Cut and paint plywood to make a hanging rail for clothes, bags and more.
Gather your supplies
• 12mm plywood
• Acrylic primer
• Interior acrylic paint in blue and white
• Robe hooks
• Picture rail hanger
You’ll also need Pencil; jigsaw; sandpaper; paint rollers and trays; steel rule; painter’s tape; drill
Here’s how
STEP 1 Trace whale template (opposite) onto ply and cut out with jigsaw. Sand cut edges smooth.
STEP 2 Apply primer to edges of whale shape and one face using a paint roller. Leave to dry.
STEP 3 Draw lines on primed whale face using a steel rule and pencil to mark the stripes.
STEP 4 Mask off stripes with painter’s tape.
STEP 5 Using a roller, apply 1-2 coats of paint to the blue stripe sections, letting dry after each coat.
STEP 6 Pull off tape at an angle while paint is still tacky, taking care not to smear it for sharp edges.
STEP 7 Measure and mark position of hooks on a base stripe on whale. Attach hooks using drill and supplied screws.
STEP 8 Secure rail hanger to wall and whale back with supplied fasteners.
